She Kills Monsters Part Two

It's been a exactly a week since the closing of the play!

Don't get me wrong I loved being in the show, but like I said in my last blog post it's been years since I've done a show.

And never have I ever done one so intense.

My character Farrah the Fairy had the some of the most intense fighting in the entire production.

Keep in mind I can barely climb a flight of stairs without being exhausted.

Now this is a from one of our first stage combat rehearsals so don't judge too harshly.

Mistakes were made, lines were forgotten and our moves were uncertain.

With each rehearsal the fight scenes became intenser, but in the beginning they were rough.

My body was constantly aching and covered in bruises.

Now that I think about it that didn't change when we opened.

Luckily nothing horrible happened during our show, but one of the cheerleaders broke her toe during a live performance and had to keep acting as though nothing happen.

But, her accident happened during a dance scene.

Still it shows the importance of choreography.

I was slightly injured during the opening night of the show.

Someone was nervous and forgot their fight choreography and when she was suppose to swing low and I'm suppose to jump high she jumped too!

I'm pretty sure I pulled something in my back, because each night it was so hard to lift my arm for the fights.

My body still hurts and it's still covered in bruises made during the show.

But the good thing about that is that it'll pass with time.

I am one of the Mothers' of the Dragons and let me tell you never again!

Daenerys Targaryen you can keep your title!

I will physically carry scars and burn marks on me for the rest of my life.

Not to mention my favorite pair of jeans were ruined by hot glue.

(Side note: if anyone knows how to get hot glue out of denim comment below!)

But, when I look at these scars I won't think about all of that.

I'll think about all the laughter I shared with the friends I made during this show.

I'll think about my first and probably last show I'll ever act in at Nicholls State University and I'll smile.
